My dad’s a retired civil engineer and I got to see how all this worked when he did one back in the day. I got to see the individual sections being built and then got to walk through the tunnel after the sections had been connected and before they were ready for traffic.
To be fair, the he last time I was daily driving Linux was probably 20 years ago. I only came back in the last ~2 years.
I was surprised how well it handles printers. We have an old Brother wireless laser mfp. It was pretty cool when it just saw the printer automatically, but I was really impressed with how easy scanning was.
I started going down the rabbit hole of manually installing and configuring it, but then tested some simple terminal command and it already saw the scanner. Ran skanpage and Bob’s your uncle.
So are bananas.

Mint is Ubuntu/Debian based and uses their Cinnamon desktop environment.
Bazzite is Fedora based and uses KDE as the desktop environment.
The biggest difference is that Bazzite is atomic or immutable distro. The core systems are read only so it’s harder to break. It’s also harder to tinker with. You’re mostly limited to packages that are available in their package manager. You can install other stuff via layering if you really need to tinker.
I have a round handled wooden spoon. The left half of the head is a normal spoon and the right half tapers to a point like a spatula or turner. I use it in almost every meal I cook.

I’ve been slowly trying to de-google my Pixel 6 pro. Thinking about Graphene.
I use Google Photos to share kid pictures with the grandparents but I’ve been trying to migrate to Ente. Google checkout makes it a pain to export your pictures in bulk and load them into something else. I think I found a Python script that did the last batch but I forget the specifics.
My wife and I track each other on Maps but that’s not a deal breaker, just nice to see when the other is in transit to time dinner and things.
After that it’s just some banking apps, bitwarden, 2fa, etc which should work fine.
It just feels like a big leap.
The Boomer Kuwanger theme is a banger. This might be my favorite version though.
I played through it originally years ago and remember it being sad but it kind of fell out of my head. I played it again few years ago after acquiring a bonus kid and having a baby, both the intro and the ending were gut punches.
Was Thermal Transfer always granting an extra turn? I remember being confused by it because it felt inconsistent and didn’t seem to match the wording. Maybe I just wasn’t paying super close attention.
I think I was mostly using her to set fires to the up Miele to get back into that 200% damage stance.
I did not expect to be moved by the story though.
It made the final choice have some serious weight. I chose to let what’s his face rest. I couldn’t bring myself to reload and choose the other option.
It’s not as easy to find, but I love birch beer.
