Especially when the publication is doing a lot of research into the abuses of the rich and powerful, it’s not like they’re going to invest against their class interests.
No clue what you’re talking about honestly. I’ve worked on a 7 million line python codebase, and while python had tons of issues, whitespace was not one of them. You can easily move things around and have never seen a bug due to bad indentation.

I get where this is coming from, and it’s good to move away from the libertarian fantasy that technology is neutral. But in practice, it is very hard to actually use.
For example, you can’t use any GPL code that you may want to include, as that forces your project to also become GPL. And anyone using your code would also have to walk on eggshells for licensing, and they would probably just avoid it in the first place.
It might be useful to some very specific end products, but this will likely not see a lot of adoption.

Client side is completely out of the question here. You can’t just send millions of posts to every client hoping that they will order it themselves. Bluesky has a well thought out architecture that does that through server side feed gens, that can be decoupled from the App itself.

The important thing the article is missing, is that you should always respect the prefers-reduced-motion setting. Some people just don’t like animations; either because they are distracting, or because they don’t want to waste battery/cpu on useless things (looking at you, spotify player, using 15% of my cpu for some animated bars…)
