You care about privacy? Hostile!
I get that! I’m also aiming for moderation, but realised that I needed a period of abstinence - and no defined end date - to get there. I have done it in the past, but always with a determined deadline. Result being that I just got back into old habits because I was aiming more for the deadline and less for the result and long-term vision.
I do miss a good glass of wine or tasty beer with dinner in a restaurant now, but I can only allow myself to do that once I have a clear handle on my alcohol consumption.
It’s not easy and it never will be! Experienced that with smoking as well. But it’s good to have at least someone to help and be there. That’s a good one to get you started and stay motivated. Also small things for yourself can be helpful. For me, it’s trying and ranking as much alcohol free beers as possible. Being from Belgium, I love(d) me some special beers. Now that I’m not drinking, it’s fun to explore this “new” world and find the best one!
Things suck, especially kicking addictions and habits, but over time the sucking gets manageable.
been over 2 months since I had a drink but I approve! haha
Breaking monotony helps me keep my day interesting haha
Bonus is now you can choose whatever you want for lunch!

Yeah, my parents wouldn’t know what’s AI and what isn’t. They’re 50+. Not really a surprise, tbh. There’s a lot of people whose knowledge of tech is not there at all, sadly. But I try to explain it to them as much as possible, tho!

Yeah I don’t know about the ethics of that…
And then there’s my job… organising and basically working 24/7 at a festival from Friday to Sunday. Basically no time for Christmas shopping anymore haaaah

They claimed it’s for “safety” as “microsoft is to be trusted more than OpenAI” oh the irony!
also, not really higher ups to dictate our IT what to use, that makes it even better…

IT department at my job encourages everyone to use Copilot and try to implement it more… I don’t even know WHY I’d do it in the first place
Ahhh, I love the American cultural phenomenon of suing anyone and everyone for absurd amounts of money
For the things iPhone can emulate, I already have my Miyoo Mini Plus, so got that covered!
ahhh, bummer :/
I’m using an iPhone (because of my job) so no luck there either. I’d like to have an android phone for myself - because of modification ability etc. but can’t bring myself to spend money on a second phone.
I think I’ll look into getting a second emulator instead. Will be more practical, I guess. Thanks for answering, tho!

oh yes Maastricht is cosy! make a road trip out of it. that’s what me and my gf basically do every summer with our van. you can do a lot in three weeks

come to europe habibi!

can’t wait to chuck a psp in my pocket to listen music on the go hahaha

like instagram did with reels

any recs for good mp3 players? hard to find an affordable good condition ipod classic nowadays

Do Belgium next! Or at least the city/province I work in.
Would be fun to see our 6 governments debating about wether we should go for Open Source instead of Microsoft. Can’t imagine how all the civil servants would cope with this change, especially our own IT worker (but it’d be worth it for sure). Dude just encouraged everyone to implement Copilot more into our work. And definitely Copilot and not ChatGPT or anything else not from Microsoft because of “safety reasons”
brilliant marketing move
