Sorry to sound so damn pessimistic but the one thing I really looked around after decades on the planet and could feel proud of about humanity was that at the very least we were getting better, however slowly.

Just look at the Charlie Kirk aftermath. How many people lost their jobs because they showed the wrong emotion and posted about it? I haven’t heard of a single person on the right fired for threatening retaliatory violence.

It’s been a very long time since I’ve paid much attention to the show (which is not the snarky sideswipe it might sound like) but I thought it was a very, very liberal-centric (note I did not say left) show with (IIRC) one token conservative host.

I could very well be wrong though.

The fact that there is a single person who believes this to their heart and will go on camera to say it is proof that we’re doomed, IMO.

So far I’ve seen this same sort of report of federal agent escalation for here, also Chicago and Manhattan as I’ve scrolled various social media in the past few visits. That was without looking for the stories or a pattern.

I wonder if they’ve been instructed to take it up a notch across the board.

I can see it alright. My vote 3.5 years from now doesn’t impact what Trump does next week though. How Dem leadership reacts when he does it might impact that vote though.

It’s almost like I’m expected to uncritically serve up my vote to them for not being the other party.

If it really is exactly like that (and clearly it is) this has been a waste of both our times, frankly.

No one seems to be interested in asking what I’d want to see to vote for them, only that I’m wrong for the vote that I might or might not cast in 3.5 years time, which I find very interesting on an intellectual level.
