Im sure someone else can fork and play around with it at some point. It makes a LOT of assumptions (US based, longfast on MT. etc…)

And the screen needs work.

And the hop logic. It just blindly forwards the packet. No reduction in hops. So yeah dont use it. But it was fun to try and see if I could get it working. And it did!

My favorite sorts are random sort (toss them up, see where they fall. are they sorted?) and bead sort (connect 4 sort).

One is potentially O(1) sort and the other is potentially O(n). haha. But in practice they are terrible. Love it.

This sort is neat too.

Honestly I dont know how putting more nodes up could ever hurt the network? I mean imagine ALL meshtastic and meshcore repeaters suddenly could do both. It would mean a 20/30% more coverage for meshtastic and like 1000% for meshcore right off the bat. (meshcore has less hardware running around than meshtastic).

That being said im VERY new to developing anything on the heltec/meshtastic/meshcore stuff. So its all very alpha software.

Once I get the hops working ill publish. Its not pretty. And I dont want to be the forever maintainer on this project, I got other things going on. But its a good forkable project right now.

Im hoping to deal with that with #2. Worst case i just put a bit of a delay, wait for two or more, remove. Or if it doesnt hear anything them send. The hop logic isnt there yet. I litterally just made it today. Im going to get the rtlsdr set up and do some testing.

If you dont like it, you can get a lot of versions online (because its all open hardware). This is just the official supported one.

Realistically probably less than 20 a month for a good cloud provided option.

With your own hardware, I ran mine for less than 1$ a month with an existing domain and hardware around the house. You dont need much other than storage. For single user probably next to nothing. For family and friends a bit more.

Its a bit expensive, but if you like hackable game consoles and open source games, its really fun.

You bring up some good points. Just FYI my research was specifically on ai, but a very specific branch in college. So not llm but only somewhat llm flavored.

The are already including ai chips in consumer hardware. And your thinking of llm specific limitations. But the smaller models can absolutly be thrown into hardware. Its just the algorithms are moving so fast that the hardware needs to be flexible enough. Thars the biggest reason we dont see more hardware faster than gpus. Hooe that makes sense!

Its pretty neat! For me the main things I use my phone for that linux CANT currently do for me is:

1. Take calls
2. GPS/directions

And it looks like voip may have solved 1 with that service he mentioned. Ive thought about making my own phone “brick” for a long time. It would be a fun project.

Its been a minute since Ive heard of ReactOS! Its such an interesting project. From my understanding theres a lot of the same devs that helped out with early wine too. Might still im not sure.

I worked in the industry for many years. Theres more spit and handshake agreements than people are aware of. Definitely in the Central Valley. Its a whole industry full of legal loopholes. Licensing crops can be as easy as a written signature with one page to whole multi-company rights etc…etc…

Also growers/transportation/storage/etc… are sometimes all the same multi-conglomerate and with the same owner. But have a different business license/business. That way, if one gets sued only one goes down. Also one can have a huge tax related issue and have “losses”. Lots of creative work there.

So yeah its not black and white as most people think. Significant amounts of your food is both licensed with a huge agreement…and others are “unlicensed” but licensed as a spit/handshake. Mellons are a perfect example.

Dont get me started on the commodities markets…and onions.

I dont think you understand whats happening at all. I got some awesome fruit from all this. And the article goes into much more detail than what your laying out.

Also this is an article written without the original articles…theres much more nuance within the Fresno Bee that they cite. People are making huge assumptions it seems…
