Its more you are at the cutting edge where the general public will be in a few years. The only time I don’t see that happening is when I think of the tildeverse as that is more an offshoot than a evolution of the tech landscape.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Can we make federation less dependent on domain names?English
8·11 days agoIrc solved this by having list servers domains that give a list of irc servers so instead of having random servers that go down you have a network of distributed servers that work together.

Also you can still do the video rental store experience but even better where it doesn’t cost anything buy visiting your local library. Most libraries have lots of DVDs for checkout.
No worries the /etc/apt/sources.list is a file that stores the config of your software repos you can edit that file by running sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list and remove that line that has the path for jellyfin you save by hitting Ctrl + x
It seems your /etc/apt/sources.list has a hardcoded include listed in that file and when you deleted the app it deleted the list file in sources.d directory.

As someone that works with data archival its really hard to keep videos around most media storage would be gone in a few decades.

POSIX would make more sense as its the collection of standards as that would encompass BSDs as well. Since you can run Linux compatible software with neither GNU utils nor Linux.
