I recently went to a private lake, in a Northern California city. I won’t bother saying where since most would not know of the area. Anyways, the lake is not very large. However being Labor Day weekend, lots of families were present. One man decided to play reggae on a speaker fairly loud and shout some obscenities a lot.

Apparently someone parked a car next to theirs and they thought it was too close. The other driver didn’t want to do anything. So each time he and his family walked passed him he would yell about how “fucking awesome” it was to be at the lake and tell that other man obscenely to go back to The Bay Area. It got bad enough that my mom called sheriffs and other people had complained too. The sheriff came and talked to him. He spent the rest of the time on an inflatable raft just drifting on the water.

Overheard some kids and it sounded like the man had done similar the day before.

EDIT: It wasn’t interesting. Simply a public nuisance.

But Trump said recently that Israel has lost control of Congress.

How long till they start legally labeling all trans people as “mentally deficient” or declare them all no longer citizens just to bar them from having guns?

It was pretty obvious from the beginning there would be Metrons.

I guess The Smashing Pumpkins being my favorite band, has skewed my perspective. I’ve always felt that song was ironically upbeat for their style.

I’ve heard the song used in those compilations of sporting events you see on TV before said sporting event, to celebrate a athlete.

People forget that Today by The Smashing Pumpkins is literally about suicide.

Ironically I saw this ad last night.

I feel like as a 90s kid, someone old enough to remember and understand 9/11, anti-Muslim sentiment has been around a long time. That doesn’t surprise me regarding this.

EDIT: As a Filipino, I grew up hearing a particular flavor of anti-Muslim prejudice. A great grandmother would tell people that [insert censored comment], an outrageously offensive thing that was made up. A aunt would just generalize that certain parts of Philippines were not safe to travel due to Abu Sayyaf, an Islamist terror group.

I am Filipino. A cousin of min, who’s Jewish on his father’s side, decided to have a bat Mitzvah last year. Proud of the kid but I wonder if he has been exposed to actual hate speech behavior that was misdirected at the Jewish people because of the war.

Disliking the actions of the Israeli government is not the same as hating Jewish people. At some point people just started to agree with anything that wasn’t in favor of the Israeli state as being antisemitism. It is alarming how we’ve turned the actual hatred of Jewish people into an issue that isn’t about people actually hating them for their faith practices.

The oppressed have become the oppressors. That is not good.

Is anyone else not bothered? No one corrected him during the panel. He called Wolf 359 a planet. It’s a red dwarf star. Unless he meant there is a planet nearby. Research says every red dwarf has one planet in a nearby orbit (much farther Earth to Sol).
