It just shows that your “democratic politicians” have no answer to the rampaging fascism in your country. They just huddle against the one dude who tries to copy the strongman. That does not work.

Didn’t it all start with Wine and later Vulkan / DXVK? Didn’t Valve just put it all together in a nice package or am I missing something?

I can really recommend the Fairphone 3/4/5 with eOS, using them for more then 7 years now. The hardware is slightly more expensive due to their mission (fair traded minerals, sustainability, reparability). They are very good as second hand devices because of the cheap spare parts. eOS does everything you need, including banking apps.

That’s probably the long game for the techbors, Americas Oligarchs. Trump is a good tool to bring that idea into a country once called “leader of the free world”. By giving him money to buy more shiny toilets they make sure they don’t fall on his bad side so they can do whatever the want.

And governments worldwide know this and change policies without talking about it. That’s the worst part. Let’s just be open about it. It is time to prepare for the outcome, for all, not just a few richy-riches who want to settle on the moon and watch us burn in their first row seats.

Maybe more of the Putin-playbook, he became one of the richest men on earth by pressuring the oligarchs into paying him. I am almost certain they talked about this in the 2h one-on-one in Trumps first presidency.

Making policies via Twitter posts must be one of those things I will never get used to as a democracy-enthusiast. But what do I know. This person can get some of the most qualified people for the job fired because…checks note…she “has the ear of the preesident”. No clue what that means, but after reading her resumee I doubt it has anything to do with her responsibility as an elected representative.

What are you guys doing over there? I am loosing the plot. Do you really think this will go away in 4 years?

It looks like we are not doing one or two steps backwards, it’s like a sprint back to the 1960s. And it’s worldwide, not just the US. Almost as if the people in power just gave up and decided to squeeze as much out of this planet as possible.
