6·12 days agoThis would be great for Emulation, for example converting .bin + .cue or .iso to .pbp, .rvz etc.

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Recommendations for an all-SSD home server?English
1·25 days ago“Home Server” more than “NAS” so I guess, your typical docker apps, but no LLMs or anything. I would like at least 4 hard drives, preferably m.2 but SATA is fine too.

1·25 days agoSilence is the only important aspect, SATA is fine. I see a lot of options out there much smaller than ATX. Here’s one example: https://www.lincplustech.com/products/lincstation-n2-network-attached-storage but like I said I am more curious as to what everyone around here is doing.

1·25 days agoSilence is the only requirement, I just want to know what’s out there that other people like. I prefer small. I own SSDs I am interested in the NAS itself.

31·25 days agoThose are awesome lol what would be a good system to run them in?
EDIT: I feel I need to say I’m not actually going to pay for that, 4x4tb is probably plenty but it’s still awesome.

I pay for 404 media and a few others! I still use this extension for everything else
Crazy how to me why this is not more widely known. Best solution.

Android@lemmy.world•Assuming I am using F-Droid for all apps and taking other precautions, what information is stock Android collecting?English
1·1 month agoYou could do a MiTM with a https proxy and look at wireshark to see what it sends.
Surely a professional must have looked into this by now?
Also I don’t see how Google wouldn’t be able to read Signal messages if they have full unstoppable access to everything? If the user can read it, surely Google can too?

1·1 month agoThank you! Location and search history are particularly troubling especially when a user is not even using Google to search. Can Google still see contacts if not using their contacts app?

Thanks I realized during this search that even full-flavor WearOS smartwatch only has a slim selection of apps that don’t require the phone anyway.
