My favorite is irregardless, having an identical meaning to “regardless”, just because linguistics nerds get so tilted by it.

Funner follow-up: this definition is correct and true to the original usage of “factoid”, however, the alternative definition meaning “a small or minor fact” has been used often enough that it’s generally accepted, and appears in several dictionaries. Ain’t English grand!?

Yeah this is an easy Shiloh angle for me. I’m down for some Radiohead every now and then, and when I’m not, that’s what noise cancelling headphones are for.
The smoke is gathering at the top of the frame like that because the building has an overhang at the entrance. Presumably the security camera that caught the footage in the article you linked is mounted on the overhang.
elliot_crane@lemmy.worldto Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Did you recently get cancer near me?4·5 months agoSame here. They put me on a short round of it because it apparently can kickstart a sluggish sinus system to start draining properly again. It did that, and it also gave me the locked in kind of focus that people claim to get from Adderall, but I didn’t have any twitching or jitters. I was just fully in the zone, the Predni-zone.

elliot_crane@lemmy.worldto politics @lemmy.world•Former KKK leader David Duke endorses Jill Stein0·7 months agoWoah hey now all I said was you probably had a busy day at work. A little weird to bring up bots and teams of bad actors dude, chill.
elliot_crane@lemmy.worldto politics @lemmy.world•Former KKK leader David Duke endorses Jill Stein0·7 months agoAh so you were late to /c/politics. Well I suppose we all have busy days at work sometimes. You’ll get ‘em next time champ.
elliot_crane@lemmy.worldto politics @lemmy.world•Former KKK leader David Duke endorses Jill Stein0·7 months agoUnfortunately if I name this person there’s a good likelihood this discussion gets removed since the rules prohibit calling out bad faith actors, even the painstakingly obvious ones. So I’ll leave you with this: you needn’t look far to find that which you seek.
elliot_crane@lemmy.worldto politics @lemmy.world•Former KKK leader David Duke endorses Jill Stein0·7 months agoHmm… I wonder why a certain user who’s been posting non-stop about third-party candidates for the entire lifespan of their account chose to ignore this particular article. One would assume it’s important for the voting public to know about this, no?
elliot_crane@lemmy.worldto Memes@lemmy.ml•This is literally the internet nowadays without an adblock1·2 years agoThe ads still appear in the facebook feed but clicking them results in a “this site could not be found” or similar error, is how I understood it to work. I know the PiHole basically makes it so the routes from “whateveradwebsite.com” end up not resolving to an IP address. I’m not sure how FB is serving them; so the text/image content might be coming from an FB server and the link is just an ad URL with a bunch of tracking info on it.
elliot_crane@lemmy.worldto Memes@lemmy.ml•This is literally the internet nowadays without an adblock1·2 years agoMy retired parents live with me. I went ahead and put a PiHole on our home wifi. A day later my mother was literally complaining that she couldn’t click on ads on facebook. I told her those are ads and they track her and she says “well everyone likes to use the internet how they like to use it… can you put it back the old way? I want to look at these shoes”. Can’t fucking win.
Give her lanyard a read.
