We elected whoever has last talked to the President, since he has the mental capacity of a goldfish and will just repeat the last thing anyone says to him.

Media companies have realized what foreign governments have known for years. If you want all the inside knowledge of what goes on in the Trump White House, send a spy to Mar-a-lago. You don’t need clandestine agents when Trump and his crew discuss all this stuff openly, and all you have to do is pay to get in.

Worse yet, I am afraid that Trump would die in office, then VP Donald Trump Jr would become President for 2 more terms, then by the time Eric is ready to takeover they will have already held the Constitutional Convention that turns the country into a benevolent Trump oligarchy, in which the title of “President” becomes hereditary, just as the Founders intended.

I wouldn’t count this as over just yet. it makes sense that the judges would reserve their harshest questioning for the side that feels they must upend an election. Even the Liberal justices were wary of that.

They spent very little time on the topic of whether Trump was engaged in insurrection. To me, that means their minds are made up on that, one way or the other. You would think if they were going to let him off the hook based on that, though, they would ask more questions.

I think they will rule that individual states can’t use the amendment to keep candidates off of primary ballots. That much is clear. I wonder if they rule that Trump must remain on the ballot, but cannot serve if he wins – unless waived by Congress. It would make the discussion of Trump’s VP much more interesting.

Give the current state of the Republican electorate, it would be political suicide if any of them voted for a Democrat for Speaker. They may as well announce they are leaving the party at the same time.

OTOH, A handful of Democrats steering the post to a much more moderate Republican Speaker won’t see nearly the same amount of blowback from their electorate, and it may even help them get reelected, since Democrats value a functioning government.
