no one exactly knows but i suspect it is a self coup. both presidential candidates claimed victory but opposition won with supposedly 54% of the vote, so the army couped and arrested both. i suspect they will release embalo (the incumbent) and he will be declared the winner of the election.

this weekend, i had dinner with my comrades. they are so funny and full of life. it feels as I’ve stood underneath a waterfall of care and love.

i have a job interview this week, hope it goes well!

it unfairly gets translated to self reliance, but its main point is that the dprk faces specific conditions that are unique and that simply following a soviet/sino/etc model towards socialism will not be a comprehensive fit. therefore, koreans, as the movers of their destiny, should carve a unique path towards socialism, relying on the three theaters of revolutions: revolution in the ideological sphere, revolution in the technical sphere , and revolution in the cultural sphere.

there is large discussion on the korean left about china. many see them as a model of efficiency, while others are quick to point out their contradictions, particularly their overseas investments in real estate in korea. in my opinion, these questions are there to obfuscate the primary contradiction that is the military occupation of the united states.
