o4-mini (the reasoning model) is interesting to me, it’s like if you took GPT-4 and stripped away all of those pleasantries, even more so than with GPT-5, it will give you the facts straight up, and it’s pretty damn precise. I threw some molecular biology problems at it and some other mini models, and while those all failed, o4-mini didn’t really make any mistakes.
How does suffering give life meaning? Sure, a balance/contrast between pleasure and suffering can help create meaningful experiences, but that’s a different case
I view dirty vocals as an aesthetic choice rather than emotional, they pair better with distorted guitar tones, and with metal, the focus is more on rhythm than melody anyways, so a more percussive vocal style makes sense.
Edit: + I kind of like the fact you usually can’t understand the lyrics straight up, because it’s easier to ignore them if they’re bad and just enjoy the instrumentals, and if they’re good, you can still follow just fine once you know them

What do you think happens to bottles after you throw them in the trash? They get shipped off to some landfill where they’re buried and forgotten about, that’s just littering with extra steps.
I know it’s supposed to help with recycling, the issue is that it fails to address the core of the problem. Instead of actually doing something about plastic waste, they change the bottle design a little, someone probably makes a shitload of money off that, and everyone is happy, but in reality nothing of substance has actually been done. They offer us these pathetic compromises and we are stupid enough to be satisfied with them.
I imagine In a Silent Way would be incredible in a crime drama, for example over a murder scene, with all the other sound cut out and just that playing (more like “foreground music”, if that’s a thing)
