And what’s stopping a patriotic Canadian from going in there and proclaiming Canadian freedom all over it?

6·4 days agoThe best way from my perspective is to show them.
At tech events and meetups, I’m showing them Linux.
When my friends come over, I show them my self hosted solutions on a Linux.
At work, where we use Macs, we talk about open-source, including Linux.

10·5 days agoThat reminds me of the time during a huge snowstorm, we got about 3 feet of snow. Not safe for driving. But I went for a walk to my buddy’s house.
A bunch of college kids built a giant snow family in a four lane intersection of a major street. I cheered them on.
An hour later, I went back home to check. Those kids were taking apart the snow family. There were two cops behind them, supervising them.

My favorite is the one where Republicans go, “Why are immigrants getting healthcare for free, when I have to pay for it?!”
As if Democrats haven’t been pushing for universal healthcare.

Gaming@beehaw.org•For No Reason in Particular Here's a Bunch of Games Where You Kill Nazis
9·7 days agoI laughed my ass off at the PoE2 comment.
Back in mah day as a teen in 1999 who didn’t have parent supervision, I went on the internet and learned HTML to update my geocities page with more pictures of anime and hotties.
I downloaded 4 songs and it took me 10 minutes a piece, and one of them ended in .exe.
I played web games that didn’t know how to make money so sometimes they’d beg people to give them money or put banner ads all over the place.
The I found some cool software on Usenet. It was broken in 80 rar files (I am still testrunning winrar), and when I unzipped it, it was corrupted.
Then I reached out to my AIM/ICQ to chat with a 22-yo man pretending to be a teenager and cyber’d with them. But before I got to anything good, my mom picks up the phone and my connection dropped.

30·10 days agoWith all the layoffs of tech workers, theyve been pouring into more creative outlets like game dev.
I bought a bunch of games in the last year that are pretty niche and fantastic, but also under 1000+ reviews.
What’s a good Lemmy community to share them to people who will appreciate it?
Maybe something like patient gamers but for indie games?

Because if I’m using a VPN using a UK server and I get any issues, I can switch to Spain, or Italy, or Zimbabwe or whatever. Is that not the case?
