Same. The guardian seem to have a bee in their bonnet about dark kitchens but I don’t see the problem. As a takeaway customer I don’t care that it came from a dark kitchen, as a customer of a restaurant I don’t want to have to wait 2 hours because the kitchen is dealing with take away orders!

The problem I have with this is that it’s a barrier of using the shop if you don’t have a £/€1 coin on you. There’s an Aldi by me where the trollies have this lock on them, but the Tesco opposite doesn’t so I’ll just not go to Aldi as I can’t get a trolly.

Somewhat reminds me of Dr David Kelly in the UK. He was a key scientist involved in finding WMDs in Iraq in 2003, however he leaked to the BBC that the intelligence report given to the government was “sexed up” (the phrase used at the time) in order to favour an invasion into Iraq. It was discovered he was the source of the leak to the BBC and then was suddenly found dead in some woods near his home.

The official story is that he commited suicide, probably from the pressure and stress he was under, but the timing was so suspcious that obviously people think the government had him bumped off.

I disagree, if it’s corrupted, then it’s broken. If you have a system where there’s redundancies and backups but they all fail due to the same issue then that’s a bad design.
