News@lemmy.world•‘I don’t need international law’: Trump says power constrained only by ‘my own morality’
8·3 days agoListen hear me out…
Can we just have a newsletter of “trump says” instead of reporting every fucking thing his geriatric mind spews 3 times a day? While it is important to be aware of the context of the crazy; at this point it isn’t real news ffs! he’s basically weekend at bernies at this point.

99·3 days agoSorry idr if this from source article or one linked in it:
Training was slashed from 16 weeks to six, with sit-ups eliminated because recruits couldn’t handle them.
These nazis are so fucking pathetic in every conceivable way lol
it would be so much funnier if they weren’t destroying lives and killing people
Ffs the fact I even forgot this obvious point because so busy being pissed at the blatant lies, fascist takeover, and murder.
The tweet is from 2023 and still relevant 🙃

News@lemmy.world•Justice Department scrambling to find holiday volunteers to redact the Epstein files, internal DOJ email says
28·19 days agoIdk… that takes way more effort and foresight than what has been demonstrated by this administration so far.
What meal/cuisine wouldn’t benefit from onion and garlic though? Genuinely asking.
I add at least the powders to probably everything I cook, sometimes even white rice. But I’ve always wondered if I’m adding “wrong” seasoning to a dish when I use them!
(Eta: I also regularly cook with them but usually that’s when the recipe calls for it. I add the powders to browning meat or enhancing sauce etc regardless of recipe I just add them. )

News@lemmy.world•Jimmy Kimmel Pulled “Indefinitely” By ABC After Over Charlie Kirk Comments
12·4 months agoI am amazed and shocked every time the line is crossed.
It is crossing it farther and farther as well, with increasing similarities to other authoritarian lead countries in history.
My shock is not one of ignorance but defying normalcy.
However this stuff has been great for people who didn’t pay attention much before or believe stuff before. This time the administration is barely trying to sugarcoat what they are doing.
I once wrote in the sex Ed annonymous question box how snakes have sex and the teacher got pissed and threw it away like it was a prank.
I really wanted to know :(
Now I do! Kinda! I know it looks cooler than mamals mating at least

Progressive Politics@lemmy.world•Daily reminder that Charlie Kirk argued AGAINST free school lunch for kids. The multimillionaire said no child is hungry.
17·4 months agoWow that whole ‘we don’t have a child starvation problem, we have a child obesity problem’ as evidence it doesn’t exist… that’s just evil genius levels for political soundbites.
Evil because they are two side of the same coin! And genius deflection because one has physical evidence we all see everyday. Americans are fat and the media publishes articles of how our kids are fat, not how they are hungry. And if you may see that hungry kid you won’t know they are hungry if you don’t know them.
Frankly his first reply “get a job” is his real truth though.

News@lemmy.world•President Trump moves Space Command from Colorado Springs to Alabama, citing state’s mail-in voting as a reason
55·4 months agoSpace Command, the lawmakers stated, […] The move “sets our space defense apparatus back years, wastes billions of taxpayer dollars, and hands the advantage to the converging threats of China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea,” the delegation wrote.
Ahhh. There’s the truth.

News@lemmy.world•Boy, 11, shot dead after playing doorbell-ringing prank in Houston, police say
663·4 months agoThe kid was shot in the back You know, cause he was running away and all.
It is wild to me that someone hears their doorbell and their instinct is to grab their gun. I cannot imagine losing your child this way. I know school and mass shootings are awful and kill many more children. The difference is the intent; on some level Americans are aware existing means we could be the victim of gun violence. We do not expect idiots to shoot at us with no intent to go on a killing spree and especially not at our children outside of schools.
I almost don’t blame parents for not wanting to let their kids play outside anymore
