Pretty sure we are already cooked frankly. Even if we get Republicans out, It’s more than likely old guard Democrats will stick around. And they will do nothing… again. So that next time republicans win (and they will within a few cycles, tops. people here are dumb. Really, really dumb.) they will still be free to keep doing the bullshit they are doing now.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m still gonna vote. I’m still gonna fight this shit in whatever other ways are available to me as a non-wealthy citizen. Admittedly that doesn’t add up to much but still, ya gotta do what ya can, even if it feels fruitless. Rolling over and giving up just gets us even more extreme fascism even faster.

This does concern me frankly. Hopefully its all just his usual limpdick saber rattling. The problem is, if something like this does happen, at this point I don’t trust anybody to stop it. Democrats are too busy playing theater and bending the knee to their corporate overlords to oppose anything Trump does at this point past their usual finger wagging and “almost maybe going to send a sternly worded letter at some point” responses. And if the Supreme Court doesn’t give him the nod to do this he can just, you know, ignore them. Not like he’s faced consequences for that the past… ever.

Matrix would be my own, personal suggestion as well. I didn’t name names in my original comment because I didn’t want anyone to feel pigeonholed into something, the most important thing right now is simply getting yourselves safe if you need to. But yes, if you want a suggestion, Matrix is probably the best idea for all the reasons above. Plus, you are free to use any Matrix supported client, I admit pickings are a little slim in terms of variety on the front of clients atm, there are a few but they are functionally largely identical currently. But hopefully that will change in time, faster if the standard gets more popular.

I am not entirely sure what I believe in terms of theology, there are some things Humans simply are not equipped as we are now to know. Despite that, what I do know is that organized religion is quite possibly the worst thing to befall the human race.

Yeah, the SSN system is the stupidest freaking thing ever for all the crap we use it for. but trying to implement a better system is met with cries of “GOVERNMENT OVERREACH, COMMUNISTS! OH GOD IN HEAVEN, MUH RIGHTS!!!1!”. So…we haven’t really done anything about it, and probably won’t in my lifetime.
