Oh yeah. My instance doesn’t allow downvotes, and will give you a warning when downvoting that it doesn’t count. And I would be like: what are you talking about, I didn’t do anything, and then I’d look and what do you know, I’d accidentally downvoted. It happens way more than I’d like to admit.
And you’re right, it really doesn’t matter if you get downvoted. It’s meaningless especially with a reasonable post like OP’s.

I’ve noticed that shitty customer service is where I usually draw the line. And I’m not talking someone rude or the like. But when something shitty happens (company level, not employee level) and I make a complaint or submit a bad review and they either remove my comment or block my account, or some other shit like that. That’s when they’re blacklisted.

There’s only one person posting there, I think it’s the mod. I’m sure they’d appreciate some support.
That’s interesting because for me it’s the opposite, or maybe I just don’t notice it anymore. But when I first joined people were almost always hostile to one another. I feel like that’s not the case anymore.
I find the contrast to be funny. Some of the interactions are friendly where people know each other and ask them how certain events in their personal lives went. Some are just nasty. There is no predicting what you’ll get, other than some decent active users that I’m familiar with.
