Before Trump? Ehhh, not really. I’ve always viewed the US as a place where you vote for which oligarch-backed monarch you’d want to put in absolute power for 4 years. Every 4/8 years the new incoming overlord just rips up whatever the previous one did and nothing of substance is actually achieved.

After Trump 2.0? No. There isn’t a snowball’s chance in hell that Trump is going to surrender all that power he and the GOP have accumulated. And why would he? He doesn’t have to. He literally controls every branch of government that he can and ignores those that he doesn’t. If the US ever has another election it will purely be for show, like China’s elections. The mask is now fully off and the charade of US democracy is over as those who actually wield the power now do so openly on their sleeves.

I can’t say I agree with the last point. Making a comment on Reddit is a dice-roll of which logical fallacy someone will attack you with. You could say “I like waffles!” and you’d instantly get a reply saying “Oh, so you think pancakes are shit then???”

It makes it genuinely difficult to have a even a mild conversation there.

You are assuming he will face any consequences. He is completely shielded by Trump and has been granted authority to do whatever he wants. And even if he is breaking the law - the law literally means nothing if it is not enforced. The US government has been effectively coup’d from within and cannot and will not regulate or stop itself.

I don’t think I’ve ever owned a Seagate drive in the last 20 or so years. Every time I’ve been shopping for a spinning disk, there has been some ongoing controversy surrounding Seagate in one form or another that turned me off buying one.

Wait until they hear what data Instagram/Meta collects during use!

The primary use of my computer is for work as I am a 3D artist. I also watch a lot of videos and it serves as my audio rig for my music and headphones.

Paid calculator apps.

Not only are many of them paid - but they are subscription as well. Imagine paying a monthly fee for your goddamn calculator.

I’m sterile so I couldn’t even if I wanted to. Which I don’t. My country is in a piss-poor state right now and my hypothetical child would be raised in suffering and poverty.

Bragging that you keep an version of the app around that allows you to fly your drone in areas that puts other people’s lives in danger is not the gotcha moment you think it is.

I visit some fast food chains but I avoid Burger King at all costs. Some of the worst burgers I have ever seen and eaten in my entire life have come from that dump.

Prices are getting out of hand, though. Fast Food is quickly reaching price parity with actual quality restaurants which is insane.

I prefer to live special moments with my own eyes instead of staring at a phone screen the entire time.

I did grocery retail for about 4 years. We had some less-than-great customers but honestly the worst part was dealing with corporate. Upper management and corporate decisions is what truly made daily work much more difficult. The store manager that was there when I was hired was really good and good to her staff, but corporate didn’t like that she ran some expenses for customer and employee benefit so they “relocated” her. The replacement manager was one of those “fixer” types and he so godawful that I walked off the job. Left my badge on my department desk in the office and went home. Because they had been cutting back hours and hires, my entire department folded after I left. My supervisor got reassigned and some of the other part-timers left.

A few thoughts as a 3D modeller that has done hired work based off provided AI concepts:

• The usability of those assets will depend on the kind of game you are making. Are they 2D? 3D? Sprites? etc AI can generate 2D pictures but cannot generate 3D models that are useful in a proper production workflow/pipeline. Every generated 3D model I’ve seen is a dogshit mess.

• Will you be the only one working with these assets? Sending untouched AI content off to another artist in the pipeline can cause extreme headaches depending on what it is.

• Things generated with AI have a very inconsistent artistic style. This is fine for rapid prototyping and quick concepts but awful for finished products.

• AI content is extremely difficult to edit and work with and may not even be editable at all.

• Legality varies by location, region, and storefront.

• Your customers will notice and you and your product will be ridiculed for using AI, especially if you use a lot of it.

Lastly, and this is going to get a bit spicy: If you care about the work you do and take even a tiny amount of pride in your work then please, for the love of the Gods, use assets made by real people. If you do not have the skills or equipment to make them yourself then there are plenty out there that are cheap, reasonably priced, or even free and royalty-free. Using AI content in a public release just screams “I am cheap and couldn’t be bothered to hire actual talent.” and indicates that you do not care about your work.

Ah yes, those illegal migrants from Canada, the country that is notoriously difficult to enter. Must be heaps of those!

Hope Americans enjoy paying inflated prices for fuels, manufactured parts, beef, wheat, and grains because Canada is a large supplier of those to the US. Trade deals between Canada and the US are valued at around $1tril per year. I hope those that voted for Trump really feel like those increased prices make them feel like they’re being put “first”.
