Couldn’t be further from reality. Capitalist firms actively hire the least amount of people possible, because if they can get away with equal production and lower number of employees, that means higher profit.
Capitalism is actually the only system in human history with unemployment: it wasn’t a thing in hunter-gatherer society, it wasn’t a thing in early agricultural societies, it wasn’t a thing during the times of slavery, it wasn’t a thing during feudalism, and it hasn’t been a thing in any communist nation such as Cuba or the USSR (both guaranteeing jobs to every citizen as a right, and the latter having 10% of all positions vacant from 1970 onward).
Capitalism maintains an unemployed sector of the population because:
Employing more workers costs more money to firms
Having high unemployment decreases wages, improving profits of firms
Having a pool of unemployed people allows firms to spawn, grow and mutate without difficulty of finding workers to do so.
So, not talking about Iran in particular in a post about Iran, just handwaving about “the region”, shows how much you understand the politics of Iran.
What happened to Iran isn’t an isolated incident a few decades ago. The fact is that as soon as a government tries to rule itself to serve its people instead of western capitalists, it gets couped at best and bombed and invaded at worst. We’re seeing it today with Venezuela. The constant threat of invasion, coup and bombing is what makes these governments more repressive than they would be otherwise.
Iran literally got couped in 1953 after democratically electing a progressive, secular government. The country’s oil exports literally got MILITARILY BLOCKED by the British navy, and the USA sponsored mafias to carry out terror attacks and make it seem like it was communists who did it.

This is mostly western anticommunist bullshit. There is no big nation as multiethnic and as accepting of it as China to my knowledge. There was a terrorist problem in the province of Xinjiang, and after some big terror attacks in the 2000s and 2010s by radical Islamist groups linked to ISIS, the government created some reeducation camps (emphasis on reeducation), which have been closed since at least 2022. Terrorism disappeared, and Uyghur people live fully free lives. You wanna see a minority oppressed, go ask the citizens in the US being disappeared for the colour of their skin, or go ask the 1 in 5 black males in the US whom are subjected to the prison system.

It was not a dictatorship because it did not produce the material results you would expect from a dictatorship.
If it had been a system in power of a few people against the vast majority, as was for example monarchic feudalism (the state immediately before the USSR, the Russian Empire, being a good example of it), you would expect vast inequality leading to a two-class system with vastly different life metrics, wealth, and a degradation of the rights of the working people.
However, the Soviet Union had the lowest wealth inequality the region has ever seen, the highest earners were the highly trained professionals (not policitians as you may have been led to believe) and the salary difference were perhaps at most tenfold; access to healthcare was universal and free, as was education to the highest level, pensions for retirement were universal with men retiring at 60 and women at 55, homelessness was abolished and everyone had access to affordable housing (3% of monthly income on average), and everyone had the right to a job making unemployment nonexistant.
A system producing these outcomes is not the result of 4 generations of “benevolent dictators” from 1917 to 1991, it’s outrageous making such claims.
Xi Jinping is not a dictator by any stretch of the word. The Communist Party of China enjoys some of the highest government approval rates in the world, by a long shot, according to western sources:

As a tankie myself, this is easily explained by the fact that they’re not communists, and in fact the government is shitting on everything that communism did in the region in the past century. Ukraine had no war with Russia during Socialism, and in fact was saved from Nazi Extermination and thrived under Soviet Rule.
