What are other free and good ide’s though?

Ah so it’s the perceived implicit cruelty of the whole thing. I can understand that viewpoint for sure and how it would be quite off putting for many. Thank you for the explanation.

I’m curious about this take. I’ve heard it a lot but never gotten an explanation on it. Can ypu elaborate?

Genuine question: who exactly would do that? Like I understand their are bailiffs who act as “police” in the courtroom but who would be the ones who physically arrested the Administration officials? The police or other members of the executive branch?
That’s a very interesting tidbit. Good to know, thanks for sharing!
I upvoted the post. I just meant to express my absolute lack of surprise at the situation or the news.
Yes, it’s news and yes it should get attention, and lots of it! It’s just not at all surprising that mega corporations want to protect the status quo that got them to where they are, whether we like it or not. Nor is it surprising that they will absolutely do everything they can to make us believe what they want us to believe. A few years ago that might have sounded super ‘tin-foil-hatty’ and this story might have been bigger news, but I’m not sure that’s the case anymore.
In other SHOCKING news, the sky is blue.

That’s a good point! I hadn’t considered that previously.

Oh I hadn’t heard about that. Could you elaborate at all or point me in the direction of some more info?

I feel like to a point it might be, but to a point in today’s age and internet - everything is an echo chamber so it’s turned into a “pick ypur poison” kind of thing.
That being said, open discourse and actual conversation seems more prevalent and easier to come by here then on reddit which is very nice.

I hope the same. It’s been quite refreshing.

It so far ( in my very limited experience ) feels like users on Lemmy are more likely to have an actual conversation than immediately slip into the cycle of memes, in-jokes, and other drivel that usually ends up as the top several threads on reddit posts of popular sub-reddits.
It’s kinda nice.
That’s an interesting point. When I first read the quote from Trump about 2 dolls instead of 30, I thought he was just out of touch - I mean are dolls still a popular thing in today’s day and age? Is he just out of touch?
But no, there’s a reason for the usage of the term. Quite an interesting point, especially considering the demographic that largely voted for him this second election was younger men.
