I remember Samsung did this on my TV with a talk function in the remote. This was a 2012-model. So it’s technically not new that companies do this, but what LG has done here worries me.

I’ve got one myself now, but I live in bumfuck nowhere, and have blocked the MAC address for the TV. Got an HTPC connected it with Jellyfin and the whole shebang.

I’m so sorry to hear that. I’ve also been there for quite a while, and I found something that really helped me: parachuting! It’s a bit expensive, but if you can afford it, I’d highly recommend it! It’s helped me a ton!!

Exactly! They say that when you get older, the more conservative you get. I’m the god damn opposite, and I live in Denmark, own a house etc. I literally cannot complain, as I am myself in the 1% (of the world), but I’m just so fucking tired of the inequality that exists in the world. It’s been tried again and again, but there is always some fucking plutocrat that always wants more power.
