The Saratoga, a 12m x 5m aluminum single-level catamaran also built by SeaCat, sells for between $750k and 1.5m according to Google. Since I’m in the US, I’m assuming those are USD. The power plant if the Saratoga is larger, but the accommodations are likely far more spartan. The cost, along with marina fees, definitely puts this outside of “solving the housing crisis” or even being a realistic fraction of the solution.
As someone who rarely programs anything, and who hasn’t touched assembly for over 40 years, that was a great read and a fascinating (math) journey.
I must be jaded because an opening/closing animation as “innovative” makes me want to puke. If the matte screen holds up to 2000 sheets of writing using a stylus, that’s more interesting.
As for usability, I desperately want to combine my note taking device, my ereader, and my phone (comms/camera). I have an eink device, but I don’t find the reflective display worth carrying a second device, usually. After trying out the News+ feature on my iPad for a month I was addicted, but my phone is too small for comfortable long-form reading. And I take a LOT of pen notes on my 12” tablet but, again, it’s another device to lug around. Sometimes I need that screen real estate to draw but often I can get by with an A6 notepad for what I need. The only think keeping me from throwing (more) money at Apple is knowing this is a Gen 1 device and it’s better to have others find the early flaws and work through the bugs.
Wait, so one with a law background clear this up. This isn’t akin to paying for drugs and not getting them (or in this case, getting substandard drugs). A residence isn’t de facto illegal. This would be more like renting a car which doesn’t have a registration, or being provided an inaccurate tax return prepared by an accountant who claimed to be a CPA it was not (or getting incorrect engineering from an engineer without a PE license).
Don’t bother unless your burner phone OS writes random data over deleted files. Otherwise you’ll give a phone full of your csa images to border patrol with a file table that reveals they exist with the most trivial inspection.
And no living creature can abide that kind of penalty - it’s inhuman. Which is why the whole judgement must be thrown out as cruel and unusual punishment that violates the 8th amendment to the US constitution. Remember - corporations are people, too. 🥺
The city needs to rescind the zoning and block all development until the terms (housing) is complete and operational. If the developer bails, ban the developer and all of the individuals involved from any business license in the city in perpetuity. Or, if that is not found to be legal, sue them for the cost of the development plus penalties. Until cities hold developers’ feet to the fire, they will lie to get what they want and then renege on any part that doesn’t make them instant money. It happens all the time and it needs to stop.
