Junk. They’re useless because Google has made them online-only machines that are only good for when they’re online and fewer ways offline.
For a while, least the early generations of Chromebooks, it was possible to substitute ChromeOS with a Linux distro. However, Google learned of this and decided to take that functionality away and I believe that all current generations of Chromebooks won’t allow that.
So, Chromebooks just contribute to e-waste. Good job, Google, you assholes.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten scrutinized whenever I’ve pointed out to some other people, about how abused the word ‘security’ has gotten in the tech world. If people not in the know, so much see the word ‘security’ and are promised to be secure, they’ll happily sign away everything for it.
When the word itself is artificial in that scenario. Why does Google need my street address for “security” of my account when 2FA is a thing and strengthening your password is another? There’s nothing secure about prying me for sensitive information than it would be if you’ve performed regular scans or something that ensured my account is secure and not hacked into.
I am annoyed everytime I want to make a transfer on my bank dashboard from account to account. They give me “one-time” codes all the time to do simple actions and they do that for “security purposes”.

I might be simple to please but I think 1080p or 2160p is just peak to me. I find it very difficult to notice differences between 1080p and 2160p but moreso with 2160p and 4K. When Blu-Ray came out, they were of course hamming up Blu-Ray as the shit and DVD was now seen as inferior. I never really cared for what Blu-Ray had to offer at the time of it’s debut. Because DVD quality was more than efficient to me, better than VHS which the comparison between VHS and DVD was night and day.
People tend to like tricking others into going into the more premium and expensive options of the latest tech with dishonest comparisons. You see this all the time with graphical comparisons with games and movies. Where they’ll deliberately pixelate what they see as an inferior visual and sharpen the later options. It’s just dishonest and operates on an extreme bias.
Because it seems to me that the concept of blockchains, only seems to benefit scammers. Look what’s happened with bitcoin and NFTs. They’re made by scammers.

Once Gabe is done, I just hope he has someone in mind to sell Valve to. With all of the shit soon to fall around us, should Gabe Newell ever pass away or retire, may he find someone competent enough to carry on Steam as it is.
Because all it takes is for one bad deal to torpedo Steam. It could be in EA’s hands. It could be in Microsoft’s hands. Nobody is worthy to handle Steam as is but Valve and Gabe Newell.
I’ve had maybe 6 people that got away who I could have had a better relationship with than most of the ones I already have had.
Thankfully one of them is still a good friend of mine, we just mesh well in behavior and understanding eachother. Unfortunately, it was a case of her being too reluctant to have taken a chance with me when I broke up with one of my exes some 14 or so years ago. Since then, she’s been with someone new and while it’s been going well. But we’ve talked at times about how we could’ve been if we were theoretically together.
And nothing feels worse than not only knowing you could’ve had them if they just spoke up, but knowing all this time later and not having a crack of a shot to try. It just sucks.
