I think by now it’s mostly driven by social media which is international in algorithm, access to influence and partly in content. The USA was a rogue terrorist state already for decades in it’s meaning for foreign policy and illegal wars. They did a worse thing than Russia did with Ukraine when they invaded Iraq and Afghanistan with flimsy excuses, except it was not a country on their doorstep but on the other side of the world.

Nobody is “aware” of this. People continue talking about US doing this or helping that as if they were not a rogue state.

So far Trump hasn’t done anything irreversible “rogue state” in regards to international relations. He constantly sprays shit everywhere to get people to loose their minds. Yeah he’s threatening to invade any nation where they could plunder, but he’s only saying the quite part out loud. The US has been doing that for decades.

I also don’t believe (hope) that Trump actually will start a war. It’s not his stage. It’s a long complicated affair where he isn’t in the spotlight and doesn’t get to shine and control the narrative with chaos and then hop onto the next thing the next week. He might bomb this or that as long as it’s quick to do, but he only wants to appear as the big man. Obviously this is just speculation.

If you mean “failed state” or no longer a democracy, I don’t think people think that already. They assume they can vote again for another obama / biden type in 4 years.

The USA would need a reformation and political purge after Trump to become a first world democratic country again. And put a lot of these motherfuckers into prison for life via special tribunals. Including half the supreme court lol

Neoliberalism is the cause of the decay and paved the way for fascism. If you let large conglomerates own everything including news media and social media and then sell access to spew vile hate speech and disinformation to people, the current result is to be expected. It’s actually kind of refreshing that they actually come out and say it.

These people also don’t believe in equality, they believe inequality of humans is fundamentally morally correct. Neoliberals believe in inequality based on class/wealth, fascists believe in inequality based on identity like race or gender.

The true sin is ignorance and neglect.

Some socialist theory defines fascism as capitalism in decline. I don’t really agree with that definition but it’s not wrong with their critique of capitalism. So if you want to learn more about that, you should look into the (few) socialist academics.

One simple example would be corporate or capitalist ownership of media or the “fifth estate”. How could you have a democracy when voters are deliberately misinformed about reality? And not because of ideology but for profit and to create better rules to increase corporate profits? What else do you expect to happen?

The real problem is that we allowed the plutocrats to control both the news and social media and the government. Basically the US doesn’t have a free press any more but a quasi-government controlled oligarch media. As long as these neoliberal policies continue the degradation of institutions and politics continues.

Something drastic would need to happen to purge this incredibly power imbalance from the captured state. A kind of reformation or practically a coup.

Any communication tool that requires you to personally identify yourself through a phone number and is hosted centrally in the US is not good for dissidents.
