Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are some flaws to the alternative suggestions people recommend?English
1·2 days agoI think the Omega-3, Organic and whatever trendy label they use now is all a scam.
Omega-3 offers like, a slight advantage, just a slight. Nothing grandstanding if you primarily shop for that stuff.
Organic is basically companies saying “oh, we treat these a little more carefully than our mainstream line”. When, you know, they could just fucking do that process for ALL of their foods.

51·2 days agoI really want to like Linux, I really do and I only ever install it on laptops that have aged.
But it never reaches my desktop, my mainstay, because it can’t do 100% of everything I wanted to. One day, I sat down, opened up a notepad and tried to see what games or what software would work on Linux. My distro of choice would’ve been Mint, here. So, I found a detailed wiki and combed through what games wouldn’t work outright, even with Steam installed. I counted about at least 20+.
As for software, there is no Notepad++ and I refuse to go without it or settle with alternatives. I don’t mind alternatives, but I’ve been using a computer since I was a kid and for years I’ve had to move on from things I once cherished and happily had as my load-out series of programs to install. I’m just tired of always having to do it and I wasn’t going to, to use Linux.
Linux just seems to me, to be best geared for lightweight users at best. Very few can wing it with no problem (obviously long-tenured users and/or programmers). If checking your mail, browsing and streaming is all you care about without the Windows nonsense, with some scattershot choice of gaming, then Linux is for you.

3·2 days agoTo be fair, you’re probably doing better than how those dinner packets from Knorr would instruct you to cook their stuff by. A lot of the time, it doesn’t even come out right even if you did follow instructions.

4·2 days agoI was taught in high school, and this was when Wikipedia was gaining ground, that you are to take every resource you find with caution. Because you will find levels of inconsistency. The idea is to create a consistent, more realistically leaning and accurate finding to the best of your ability.

122·3 days agoBecause it is cheapening your worth. You are saying that your body is about as valuable as getting someone off, who will cum in a minute. That is clear as day, what it is saying.
Cool, some coomer will save pics of your body for extensive jack off material. Do you want your legacy like that?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is your opinion on the current state of AI/LLMsEnglish
1·3 days agoOkay, there’s a lot of variables here we don’t understand about the dude’s life past what is reported here. We don’t know if his family and friends sucked. We don’t know if everything around him sucked. But from personal experience, if there’s nobody that’s getting you that you have to go and talk with an external source, of one of AI, then there’s a plausibility that the dude’s existence wasn’t fruitful.
End of story.

61·3 days agoAnd probably never will be.
Honestly, I feel that AI will be just a phase. A long phase, but not a ever-lasting phase. Because once AI companies start feeling the hurt more about how little profit they’re turning from these, they’re going to want to pull the plug eventually.

Life is just too short for anyone’s bullshit and anything that will provide you bullshit. Just stay in your own lane. The world, both offline and online, are just massive levels of noise that’ll distort your reality, perception, clarity and state of mind if you let it.
