Communism doesn’t mandate a single-party government though. Single-party government is just authoritarianism. That’s why there are, and have been, communist parties in democratic countries.

By this definition, PRC is decidedly not communist as the common people do not own the means of production; products in society are not solely allocated based on need; private property exists; social classes exist; and money exists.

I don’t disagree with you, but let’s try to at least understand the complexity of those decisions instead of viewing the world in black/white. That sort of thinking breeds fascism and authoritarianism.

We’ve seen now what happens in Israeli gaols - I can only imagine that they’d treat perceived “traitors” the same as Palestinians; perhaps worse.

They don’t deserve our sympathy, but they definitely deserve empathy. Choosing to turn off your empathy for groups of people is sociopathy and that’s a road I’m unwilling to go down.

Okay, but let’s at least try to remember that there is mandatory conscription and service in Israel and that there is probably a significant proportion of people who have no other choice but to serve in the IDF. I am in no way attempting to excuse genocidal and homicidal actions that anyone has taken, but let’s at least attempt to understand the complexity of the issue instead of trying to reduce things to an unnaturally binary state.

Life is infinitely complex. Let’s use the wonderful tools of understanding that complex evolutionary pathways have afforded us to try to scratch the surface of that infinity. Empathy is strength; don’t let right-wing propaganda teach you that it is a weakness.

It’s been Israel’s playbook against Palestine for a very, very long time.

As many others have pointed out, there’s no governing body that defines these terms clearly so we all kind of have our own definitions. It’s important to make a few points though:

• There’s a difference between sexual attraction and romantic attraction. You can be sexually attracted to a gender without wanting to have a relationship with a person of that gender.
• Because gender is a spectrum, so too is sexuality a spectrum.
• Sexuality is also fluid, and can change significantly through a person’s life.

Personally, I identify as bisexual and not either pan or omni, and the reason why I do so is because I’m attracted to feminine women and masculine men. Because I’m not attracted to anything else on the spectrum (masculine women; feminine men; androgyny etc.) I feel like the term bisexual (two) better reflects me. I only have two genders I’m attracted to and am only attracted to those who both identify and present with that gender. I also identify as heteroromantic because, as a cis man, I only want romantic relationships with women (cis/trans, doesn’t matter).

It’s really sad to me that Americans get put in the awful position of choosing between tipping, which supports the low wages, and taking responsibility for ensuring another human being has a living wage. It’s just such a terrible position for a consumer to be placed in, having to make ethical and moral choices about how much money to pay for goods and services.

Yeah, I did note that in the article when I read it. My comment wasn’t directed at the protest organisers - it was specifically towards the Nazis in the crowd. I thought my comment indicated that; sorry if I wasn’t clear enough.

This is just disgusting behaviour. No one should ever be calling for genocide, regardless of any circumstances. Also, why are all Jewish people being conflated with the Israeli government? Jews outside Israel have no power over its government, and even Israelis had to go through some five hung elections to get Netanyahu back in power, indicating that he clearly has less than 50% of the country’s support.

Now if they had been shouting “fuck Bibi” or “end the occupation” or “no more genocide against Palestine” I’d be right there with them. These idiots have no fucking clue how to garner support, so all they’re doing is giving Israel more moral high-ground. Goddamn Nazis need to learn some physical consequences.
