I’m not going to even pretend it’s a mainstream brand (or a decent price depending on model, even when buying secondhand) but the Sony Xperia phones do allow bootloader unlock. Lineage OS has support for some of the slightly older models that arnt getting official support anymore iirc. Although I haven’t messed with roms personally (not super techy compared to probably literally anyone else here) But it is something to keep in mind if you ever see one around for a price you’d be happy with.

Landed at JFK terminal 1 today and there was plenty of ICE goons about, all just standing around and chatting amongst themselves.

I flew out of JFK terminal 1 recently (not sure how much the terminals matter/differ as it was my first time flying from JFK) about 2 weeks ago and didn’t spend more than maybe 20-30 minutes in the TSA line? It really wasn’t long at all so hearing wait times of hours and such seems crazy to me.
