You would be surprised how many people still watch with the normal YouTube ads, so never mind sponsorsblock. I guess the big tech companies succeeded by dumbing everything down to bite-sized technologies. So many younger people can’t even comprehend the notion of ad blockers. They are basically on the same level as boomers when it comes to tech literacy.

World News@quokk.au•Spain announces plans to ban social media access for under-16s
12·4 days agoI’m not sure how I feel about these social media bans for children. If we feel it’s bad for children, maybe we should identify what’s so bad about it and prevent that from being a thing for everyone? That’s of course besides the whole point of these bans probably not being very effective. But maybe it’s a good thing children learn how to circumvent the authorities/bans again. There is a real lack of technical skills in the younger generations.

3·5 days agoIt’s not like the stock price can get much lower anyway! Best to brawl when you’re at rock bottom already anyway. That said, I don’t think there will be an Ubisoft in 2 years, or only in name.

9·6 days agoI highly doubt 12% of the pc market got a new laptop for Christmas. But maybe a lot of corporations got new pc’s for the 2026 budget to phase out windows 10? I still I find a 12% jump huge, especially in the current RAM shortage climate.

I honestly can’t comprehend the concept of posting an image of just text on a microblogging website… Unless maybe it’s reshared, but still. I guess everything to try to grasp the fleeting attention these days, all down hill from here.

6·8 days agoI’m more curious whether after he’s gone, the US will have learned. I’m having my doubts about that. I’m afraid all he’s doing is setting the bar so low that every other asshole after him can say, ‘at least I’m not Trump!’ and it would work.

5·17 days agoA wild guess… Magik/Smallworld? That was it for me.

I’m all for going after people who purposely spread misinformation. But I don’t think this is solely on them. It’s to easy to just blame them and absolve the individual of any responsibility of critical thought. It’s not like information about pasteurized milk and the benefits isn’t readily available. But they choose to ignore it, so that’s on them too.
