I’m sorry to hear about the dog’s soon passing. Great job on the hole! Hell yes to keeping bones, I want to use the ashes of my previous dogs and friends in the forging of a sword for the best man of my wedding, I’m no blacksmith I will be commissioning.

151·3 months agoHey there friend, I know bella ciao is Italian for bye beautiful in English but I don’t get any references. Could I ask you for a bit of explanation what you mean or a point in the correct direction?

11·4 months agoYou said part of it yourself friend, “in almost every school”, sounds like an education problem. If more people had access to a program of education focused on modern science this problem may not exist. I’m not certain because we just know until we live it and study it.

News@lemmy.world•‘It happened so fast’: the shocking reality of indoor heat deaths in Arizona
9·4 months agoIt’s obvious to you and me it seems but people still learn about it for the first time everyday. Whether it’s a kid with their first smart phone or someone who was just lucky enough to live in ignorant bliss in their own life for years until one day they start to see things around them that they didn’t notice before. Their reality slipping away sluggishly and painfully, the America they pledged allegiance to was no longer there, no it was never there. It was lies, it was indoctrination, it was the insecurities made malice by powerful phobic cowards seeping down upon the masses, poisoning them and everything around them.
I would rather have like a wood stove than a fireplace. We get cold winters where I live in America and with our infrastructure getting crappier I would find comfort in having that little wood stove in case the power goes out for a long time.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What’s a piece of advice you got as a kid that still sticks with you?
4·4 months agoMy dad told me, “It is a sin not to live up to your potential.”
He’s not a religious person I think he just wanted to explain how heavy it may have weighed in his own mind, but we both support my mother’s idea of heaven and on occasion go to church with her at a nice church with a good community where they live. I don’t like religion but I do like open minded communities that support themselves as well as people they think differently than.
Anyways I’ve added more openminded sounding meanings to it over my life like, considering opportunities of each individual and “live up to” can mean just being a person of integrity.

Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•'It's like being in Greece': The US neighbourhood where cars are banned
22·4 months agoI know I’m feeling cautious about any progress towards my understanding of what is good, so I think I can understand why the first person was saying that, but I’m assuming. This sounds like a great thing, (but within the seconds I thought this), but I could never afford to live there it must be an overpriced and gentrified neighborhood.
I spent more time than I liked to placing commas and trying to be grammatically correct. I probably made mistakes but does anyone reading really care. Am I just trying to make people’s opinion of me higher because I organized the message to the standards of people long dead. I know I technically asked two questions there but I wasn’t really asking so fuck it.

2·5 months agoI think 02 must be the sheep. Thank you for posting, I love your reviews! I’m taking a break from the alters currently because I ran into a bug and quit because I didn’t want to back track, only like 7-10 days but still I was bothered. I think I might try again this weekend. It is very interesting and emotionally provoking.
Sort of. Be a decent person and treat others with decency. If something indecent is about to happen or happening to you or others, do your best to stop it or seek justice, by appropriate means for the situation. Don’t kill someone who threw water at you or kicked your truck.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•If all your basic needs were met and you didn't have to work to get by, what would you do with your life?
2·8 months agoHaha I like to be silly at work sometimes after I’ve already paid the big monthly expenses. I say, “I’m here to do two things help kids and pay bills, and I’m all outta bills.” I would continue to work in my field on a part time basis. Then I would make time for a few doctor appointments and start going to therapy again. I’d walk my dog at different parks more often. Hopefully id make more time with my friends and family assuming they have the same deal. I would want to be more involved with my community too.
I’m trying not to laugh too hard so my family doesn’t ask me what I’m laughing at.
I feel like it’s how my gut flora aren’t responsible for my actions or anything but will suffer my choices and others’ choices involving me.
