  • Not only was there more child murder back then, but they were less likely to be solved. Do you remember the whole missing kids on milk cartons? It started when a paperboy was abducted and never seen again. Also whoever did it completely disappeared, too. The police didn’t have any leads or suspects.

In the 90s it was the same thing. You know the Amber alert? It was named after a girl who was kidnapped and murdered. Her killer was never found. Not a single suspect interrogated, either. Some DNA did surface in 2022 or so, but that didn’t lead to any suspects either.

  • Yes. I wanted to do that, but when my last phone broke it was a damn emergency. I was distrustful of phone protection because I remember getting a phone that was armored up in a case and had a tempered glass screen but… it once (first time) fell flat from my shirt pocket onto the ground flat on its front screen and it immediately went black. I had it fixed. New screen, new protector, but the protector made it possible to plug it into charge… so I had to remove it in and out of the case to do so, but the screen was broken from the pressing (like fucking how? A new changed screen AND another tempered glass cover and it was still broken just a stronger finger press?) It just kept breaking. I then refused to use protection for years after that.

But the new one I got? I think it is protection that actually works.

I got a Samsung S23. Before I get a new phone I need to remove 2fa from a lot of shit so they dont have my new phone.

I want to ask a hell of a lot more questions about this, but later.

  • I went into linux mint. I am certain, CERTAIN, that a windows 10 update probably caused a fundamental HD failure on my old computer. I have hard drives much older and more used than the one I had, yet that HD, which was the main HD I had started to fail. It gave enough life for me to back it up into a massive 14TB backup drive (I keep that one unplugged when not in use) so I didn’t lose any data.

But HD failures are rare for me. I am fucking glad I was able to save the data. I need to put that drive to some old fashion electronic recycling.

  • That is also what is freaky.

I remember the halcyon days of 2001 and early 2002 right at the time 9/11 happened. The internet was aflame with all manner of anti-muslim stuff (with many sites and earliest citations of personalities going back to March 2001 for some reason) that labeled the entirety of the Muslim world as so irredeemably ignorant and stuck back in the Middle Ages and trying to bring about an apocalypse or simply acting out of centuries or millennia old hatred and prophecy…

All the while every fucking they were saying was a goddamn projection of their own shit. Zionists at the time claimed they were secular and rooted in the modern world of liberalism and computers while in reality they were far more fundamentalist into their own religion and religious prophecies than any Muslim group.

Also they loved to claim that the entirety of the Muslim world was a carbon copy of rural Taliban controlled Afghanistan when nothing could have been farther than the truth.

Muslim fundamentalism (however you define it) is a major problem. But if I had to put the order of danger that religious fundamentalism faces to the world, it would be on lower orders, compared to American Evangelicalism and Zionist Judaism. As a general rule, the fairly harsh religious views of Saudi Arabia, the gulf states, and Iran are mostly contained there with their governments not really interested in propagating it elsewhere.

Meanwhile you have Americans who literally think they are going to bring out the apocalypse, and people like Eric Prince who want to make an old school style ‘free army’ like in Medieval Italy and France (that resulted in untold death and misery) and to have modern crusader states where Muslims convert or die.

    Fuck them hard.
