Edi Rama said the idea of the UK wanting to “look for places to dump immigrants” would have been inconceivable a decade ago.

    I am shocked and disgusted by how this even came to be proposed - to deport would-be immigrants to a third country the government has a contract with - and how it is being discussed as a legitimate option in several countries now. Packaged as “The Rwanda Model” so nobody has to think about what that really means.

    I believe it’s a growing - and not quite yet acknowledged - fear of climate change migration, which is bound to grow a lot in coming years. I am not afraid of that aspect of the climate catastrophe though, just like I never believed in immigrants being a problem.
