If you find yourself using the phrase “people like us will get to decide what to do with people like you” it’s time to do a very deep dive on your own beliefs and motives, because that kind of phrasing does not just slip out unless you have a poison rooted very deep inside. Reading that bothered me enough that I had to step away and reevaluate whether I’m okay still browsing here, and I decided I’m not unless I actually say something.

FWIW, I think it’s probably righteous anger speaking on their part. I’m sure some among us have been more directly exposed to the darker elements of exploitative violence than others have and the resulting unresolved trauma and anger can fuel such views. That said, I do think it was way out of proportion for reacting to a random internet comment. People who are working toward liberation need to be able to channel that kind of anger into motivational fuel for organizing and, when the time comes, confrontation with the exploiting classes.
It might sound cliche, but it is one of those things where we need to be able to control the anger rather than let it control us; letting it control us is a fast track to adventurist retaliation that serves no strategic goals.
