Remembering stuff like Yahoo! And Ask Jeeves, I wonder how Google came to be the company that became ubiquitous for and basically interchangeable with “online search”.

Just a few weeks ago I saw a photo of an article circa 1995 where Sergey brin says “other search engines care about monetization, we care about quality” or something like that

If you post a serious question on friday and are looking only for legitimate answers, then please include the [Serious] tag on your post. Irrelevant replies will then be removed by moderators.
