In short:
A pilot program in Beijing is issuing identification cards for AI digital humans.
The ID states a name, birthday, address and facial features, and allows the digital human to own a digital currency wallet.
What’s next?
Digital humans are widely used in Chinese media with the market estimated to be worth $10 billion in 2025.
So legalized fraud‽
But with Chinese characteristics.
Ok, I am also anti-ai but if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck and looks like a duck…it’s a duck. At this point, this is software operated actor, so regulation is good.
Thanks for filling out my bingo spot. “Regulated fraud.”🤣
Ok, I’m an AI vegan[a], but how are
name, birthday, address and facial features
“walking, quacking, and looking like a duck”?
[a]:
recognizing LLMs as potentially possessing interiority/moral patienthood and opposing their industrial or otherwise objectified use because of it (alongside all the other reasons).
Oh, may be I was unclear af. What I meant is if it acts like an actor, talks like an actor and looks like an actor, it’s an actor. And as such, needs to be treated like an actor - have an ID etc.
Looks more like a puppet from where I’m standing.
What differientiates a good actor from a bad one? Bad one is a puppet, good one can save a bad character by improv.
And I never said that AI is a good actor - just that it is an actor xD
The ID states […] a birthday
Will these companies need to wait 18 years before their “digital humans” can access porn or gambling sites? This just seems to me to be among the worst possible ways to approach this. Why retro fit human-centric ID onto something that isn’t even clearly delimited (is it still the same entity if they are run on a different server? Can the entity be cloned? Who gets arrested if the entity causes damage?)?
Are they subject to child labor laws?
maybe one day the us will do the same with corperations
