Don’t pay for access to AI. There are plenty of free ones.
No product is free, if you don’t pay anything, you are the product being sold.
You ‘pay’ these companies by providing them with training data for their LLMs / you are the thing they are trained on. You as a user provide an endless supply of metadata they can sell.
Just don’t use the slop bot, it’s literally as easy as that.

It isn’t going to be collectively owned because it isn’t made for the collective to own, and locally hosting a version of it isn’t going to make it a tool of the masses.
It’s made to convince tech illiterate ceos and politicians to throw money at it until the techbros selling it can get their companies bailed out by the world governments that they convinced to put it into their mass surveillance and military systems.
Paint.net and GIMP are two prime examples of free image editing software that I’d suggest using instead, because even a poorly drawn image made with a mouse in 10 minutes holds more value (literally, in almost all cases) than anything a slopbot is told to generate.
