I am learning the business side of western philosophy for a college class and I can already tell I hate Immanuel Kant, John Stuart Mill, and basically every Greek philosopher.

Edit: To clarify things, I do not hate all of Western philosophy like Karl Marx just the more mainstream parts which are being taught in American academia.

This is a vent post and I was using hyperbole and being dramatic. I am sorry for the confusion.

      Thank you, that was not clear.

      Philosophers explain the world, but they need to use philosophy to change it.

      But they explain the world with magical thinking, and as a result they might change it for the worse without realizing. I am a big fan of relying on physical evidence to guide our decisions.

        Imagination is good. That’s the point. But not everything we imagine need be enacted. Most of us get caught up in imagining what’s easy for us to envision. The mistakes come in not being able to envision variables that change everything.

        In sociology, they called it latent and dominant effects.
