The best way to stop far-right parties is for non-far-right parties to get off their asses and start fixing the problems our society is facing. To be specific, prioritizing financial security and stability for regular people above all else - even the “economy”.
Or to put it in simpler terms: we’re fucked.
You cant fix late stage capitalism though. Is not that the far right pops in one or two countries…
Non-far-right parties are captured by burocracy and lobbies to not solve anything, far-right ones don’t solve anything either but because they have no morals they can promise it.
Used to be that the Russian government supported left wing parties throughout Europe.
Now they are supporting the far right, with a lot of success.

Politicians all of a sudden calling this a serious moment have had their heads in the sand for the last 2 decades.
Voters who think far right parties will fix anything are ignorant of history. 100 years after Mussolini, Italians will tell you “he made the trains run on time”. The reform of train management was put into place by the government before Mussolini.
People think government can improve their lives in a few months, all they can do is make things much worse quickly, see USA.
Ignorant of history, sure, but centre parties cutting back on education did not help. The PISA scores are obvious enough.
This is true. Unfortunately education should be one of the primary interests of any government. Though it’s often one of the last for a reason.
Similarly in Chile, some talk about the economic miracle under Pinochet. Yet it happened after he left power in 1990.
Scholz and Merz have had years to fix the issues that people were complaining about and they choose to do nothing and if anything they choose this outcome so if you want to blame anyone blame them.
There’s a lot of that to go around, for sure.
Politicians have been relying on the “surely no sane person would vote for them” for way too long, instead of cutting down the capitalist overlords that rule the planet.
Guess what, looks like with enough money and astroturfing you can get anyone elected, and now we’re all fucked.
Maybe it’s cause neoliberal capitalism isn’t delivering anything meaningful except to the few as the way it delivers “freedom” creates an inherent tension between freedom of people and freedom to grow capital, and so many people are disaffected and angry at the system which has chosen capital allows bigotry to step in. Who woulda thunk?
