    No, but you see, the smol bean Kurds NEED to work with Israel to destabilize the most significant anti-imperialist project on the region! Stop calling them zionist and imperialist puppets! Kurdistan will be a socialist anti-imperialist state that will free the Palestinians when it’s created, trust us! Stupid Tankies calling for the genocide of Kurds by pointing out how they’ve never once hurt imperialist interests in the last 25 years!

    On a more serious note, I do think skepticism is warranted on this claim, it does come from Israel after all. Personally I do not think that the US and Israel stopped the Kurdish invasion force purely due to the lack of a coup. I think many Kurdish political factions in Iraq and Iran actively refused to start a war with Iran, at least to a scale that made any invasion logistically impossible.

    I say this because of statements from early on in the war made by the different Kurdish factions essentially saying they didn’t want anything to do with the war. Was thus Kurds finally wising up to their imperialist puppetry, or was it simply the undeniable reality if Iranian military dominance allowing for a sober diagnostic of their position, I can’t say for sure. However, I do want to say that I think it would be incorrect to state that the majority of Kurdish factions didn’t actively choose to avoid attacking Iran.

    Basically, although I wouldn’t go so far as to give them “credit” for not falling on the sword again. I would say that the Kurdish leadership here showed a level of autonomy against imperialists interests that they really haven’t before in my opinion.

    Which honestly kind of makes them look worse in retrospect, as it proves they are capable of making these kinds of decisions and evaluating their situation properly, yet choose to fall in line with imperialists out of vulgar self interest.

    It makes me think that any socialist asthetics that this leadership dresses themselves is covering for a project entirely hollowed out of historical socialist principles. It’s the fate of the MEK, the vestiges of Marxism have all but left leaving only a tool for western domination and opportunist enrichment.

    🇷🇺🤝🇮🇷 FT: Russia has been secretly helping Iran develop advanced supersonic cruise missiles in one of the most significant known transfers of strategic military technology from Moscow to Tehran.

    The multiyear covert programme, codenamed C430L, has enlisted some of Russia’s most experienced missile specialists to help Iran develop a new class of weapon capable of threatening US aircraft carriers and other warships in the Middle East.

    An FT investigation uncovered the programme, which began in 2023 and continued into the US-Israeli war against Iran, through leaked Russian correspondence, travel records and analysis of military patents.

    The main purpose of C430L is to help Iran to develop a ramjet propulsion system, an engine that allows a cruise missile to sustain flight at several times the speed of sound. Missile and military experts said the technology was almost certainly intended for anti-ship and land-attack cruise missiles.

    The supersonic missile assistance programme was arranged by Rosoboronexport, Russia’s state arms exporter, which co-ordinated the project with NPO Mashinostroyenia.

    Leaked travel records reviewed by the FT show Russian arms export officials and several senior NPO Mashinostroyenia engineers made repeated trips to Iran before the C430L contract was formally signed with Iran’s Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics in November 2023.

    By 2025, NPO Mashinostroyenia had received a large cache of Iranian technical material relating to the ramjet propulsion system. Russian engineers then analysed data from an Iranian flight test and sent Tehran a detailed set of questions about how the system had performed.

    The western newspeak is grating, especially considering this probably was just an example of mutual cooperation between two sovereign countries which didn’t include the US. That being said, it was a relatively interesting read in regards to the potential cooperative production of Iran’s arsenal.

    📉🛢🇺🇸一 U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserve inventories fell another 3.1 million barrels last week to 286.6 million, their lowest level since 1982, as Washington continues drawing down emergency stocks amid the Iran war.

    • The U.S. ultimately plans to release 172 million barrels from the SPR, with roughly 39 million barrels still left to go under the current program. The oil is being loaned to companies, which must later return it with additional barrels.

    • The Energy Department says the reserve can physically operate with as little as 70 million barrels remaining. But Texas A&M petroleum engineering professor Siddharth Misra told Reuters the practical minimum is closer to 250 million barrels, warning that falling below that level puts the aging storage system in a “dangerous zone.”

        Because the oil isn’t kept in warehouses, it’s kept in salt caverns, and without at that oil to keep them held up, they’ll collapse under their own weight, and any oil still left in them will essentially be useless.

        So what’s in your imagination is kind of correct, but imagine a cave instead

          Its worse than that. They have to pump water into the caverns to get the oil out and keep the weight on the caverns. So if they keep adding water eventually it will dissolve through the salt and the system will start to leak.

            This sounds like such an incredibly stupid system I have to imagine there’s SOME kind of reason for it to exist? What is the benefit of storing oil in giant, unsupported caverns where they won’t ever be able to properly remove it all without collapsing? It’s like a prepper building a house out of canned food.

              Its more like putting an emergency lever behind a glass case. The idea is that the bottom levels of the reserve where they need to pump water in are only supposed to be used in drastic situations. If usa is in such a bad place that they need the last few million barrels of their stash of crude the designers expected to be fighting off an alien invasion, zombie apocalypse or nuclear winter. Its supposed to last a long time because by the time they need it half the people should be dead and the rest are mostly immobile because of how bad things are.

    🇨🇳🇮🇷🇺🇸 China blocks US-backed G20 language on the Strait of Hormuz

    China has refused to endorse a U.S.-led G20 statement calling for “free, safe, and predictable navigation through the Strait of Hormuz,” leaving Beijing as the only G20 member that did not support the statement in full.

    U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent criticized Beijing’s position, arguing that China has a major interest in reopening the waterway because of its dependence on Gulf energy supplies.

    China also rejected portions of the statement dealing with trade imbalances, “non-market policies,” critical minerals and sovereign debt.

    Beijing is unwilling to give Washington multilateral political cover for its position on Hormuz.
