Real wages are up over the last 40 years and even more so over the recent period of above-baseline inflation.

There’s nothing that you can explain with that fact. Inflation is a measure of dollar value in relation to goods… including goods that you don’t actually need. Simply knowing that wages outpaced inflation tells you nothing about the economic conditions of individual people.

Here’s a more detailed breakdown, which DOES emphasize the things that everyone needs:

i sure do love single permille growth yoy

graph from epi.org (economic policy institute) showing that starting around 1970 in the US worker compensation never grew as fast as worker productivity anymore, almost stalling completely

That’s a tough claim to defend, today, while housing, transportation, and food cost more for so many people.

A place to discuss positive changes that can make work more equitable, and to vent about current practices. We are NOT against work; we just want the fruits of our labor to be recognized better.

Our Philosophies:

  • All workers must be paid a living wage for their labor.
  • Income inequality is the main cause of lower living standards.
  • Workers must join together and fight back for what is rightfully theirs.
  • We must not be divided and conquered. Workers gain the most when they focus on unifying issues.

Our Goals

  • Higher wages for underpaid workers.
  • Better worker representation, including but not limited to unions.
  • Better and fewer working hours.
  • Stimulating a massive wave of worker organizing in the United States and beyond.
  • Organizing and supporting political causes and campaigns that put workers first.
