I was told covering the solar panels might be a better option, mostly because it isn’t visible from normal viewing angles, acts slower and takes longer to identify. OTOH that doesn’t actually damage the cameras themselves.

I would have asumed the camera lenses have that anti vandalism coating that prevents paint from sticking
