Did it solve the resource-guzzling issues that Atom and VS Code, like most Electron applications, suffer from? Because TBH I did enjoy using Atom and Code, but the RAM use was insane and IIRC copying your config to a new machine was kind of annoying. Though Kate also has its issues (the configuration is also annoying to copy to a new machine, it changes the way its colorschemes are defined every couple of years (forcing you do redo your colorscheme customizations), and the newer versions started struggling with my 10 000+ lines note/calender files).
