Yeah thats a red flag… and not the good kind. Write a speech denouncing them for falling into idealism and imperialist propaganda.
I disagree with this approach.
It is best to just exit.
Leftist groups, at least certain ones, can act very cultish and they may gossip and badmouth you to others to other activist organizations in the area, for example. Also, there are other forms of reprisal.
Honestly, as someone that has dealt with this stuff not too long ago, I would just bow out and not make it into an event if you can.
