Xboxes ONE consistently good idea has been it’s backwards compatibility. They could keep that shred of good karma rolling if they decide to keep the drive. Also, the amount of people who buy a console for playing dvd/bluray discs isn’t nothing. Being the ONLY console on the market with a drive might actually get some market share back.

Same for earlier windows. Now i cant install even 2019 versions of visual studio because theyre forcing everyone to win11.

That means they went back through their library and started making things incompatible with anything but the latest version of windows. A more scummy thing i have not seen since ie vs netscape.

        I have!

They removed document editing capabilities of purchased versions of Office despite the license being perpetual. They essentially turned it into a read-only thing.

I got off office when they started requiring logins. The only copy i have now is a copy of 2000 running in a vm.

Yeah, that should have been the death knell. What do you mean I need to log in to my office suite?

I use LibreOffice, and run Collabora (which is also LibreOffice) for my NextCloud instance.
