My internal clock has been utterly derailed by having finished school last week, so I didn’t even notice that it’s Friday again lol. I don’t have any soulslikes on my plate right now - sounding like a broken record at this point - but I’ve been thinking about trying to get a PS4 emulator running on my PC to give Bloodborne another go. It’s been way too long since I’ve last played it.
I’m not sure if it’s the saddest boss in a soulslike, but Romeo from Lies of P is definitely up there. The second playthrough recontextualises many boss fights and this one was just gut wrenching.
What’s your pick?

I have to give spears a shot. Luckily the game’s pretty forgiving on respeccing. Especially the skills being entirely non-committal is a really great decision.
It’s awesome! One of the things I like a lot about the game.
Just had a thought that having such a limited number of weapon types to choose from as a negative. But then I realised that the weapons feel and play a lot differently from one another quite a bit and that a skill tree for these three weapon types must have been challenging already. So either they would have had to invest a lot of resources on many more trees or scale back the scope of each individual tree which would possibly have made quite a bit more monotone or uninteresting.
Ye the skill tree is quite awesome actually. Maybe I should engage with it a bit more b4 quitting. Rn im in the process of converting to a spear build so I’ll see how t hat goes
Edit: Just did a quick n dirty spear build while checking which skills fit my playstyle and then tried Xaldin again (for his claws). Damn this build shreds ass. Totally unoptimized build and I’m inclined to agree this is pretty OP. And way more fun than Dual Wield and Greatsword.
