Two Israeli female soldiers died by suicide this week, bringing the number of serving Israeli soldiers who have taken their own lives since the start of the year to 16, amid growing concern over rising suicide rates in the military since the war in the Gaza Strip began.

Responding to another comment in this thread that got removed:
Ah yes. Celebrating suicide, that’s okay. Saying that the suicidee should instead target those responsible, now that’s calling for violence.
Mods, either shutdown this whole post for celebrating murder or leave all the comments up. This half-assed shit is sending the wrong message.
To clarify: celebrating death or even advocating for it when it’s targeted at military personnel is allowed in this community. Violence is the primary purpose behind military so everyone is there with an explicit consent.
Doing the same for civilians/elected officials is not (even if they are war criminals).
This logic is pretty dumb honestly. The elected officials who send soldiers to kill for them are far more culpable than the soldier who is drafted. Civilians with no power? Sure, maybe they shouldn’t be called on for being targeted. The people literally giving the orders though? In my opinion they’re, in effect, part of the military complex. They aren’t literally service members, but they are part of the chain that gives soldiers their orders.
I mean, it’s yalls instance so whatever y’all want to do, but just want to make sure, only allowing this for the pawns of the war but not the ones actually running things and commanding said soldiers really gives this vibe:
Especially since nearly every government on the planet, whether truly democratic or completely fascist, true purpose is the monopoly on violence. It’s how laws are enforced and control maintained.
We would also be happy if satanyahu took his own life or any high ranking israeli terrorists

What the fuck are you talking about? Can you read? That’s not what their comment says. Their comment says that, if we can (call to) hold the soldiers accountable, then surely we can (call to) hold the elected leaders who sent them accountable.
It isn’t saying the soldiers are innocent. It’s saying the soldiers are less responsible than the leaders giving the orders. They should be the first priority, yet they’re protected instead.
It’s saying that if we can hold the Nazi prison guards accountable, surely we should hold Hitler accountable too.
My bad bro. Been seeing a lot of lib ass comments around Lemmy so I don’t give vague contrarian comments benefit of the doubt. You’re right, I’ll remove my comment
Cool. Really fucking weird policy, but I’ll respect it. I would like to state that maybe an exception be cut out for suicide, cause I know if I was struggling with ideation and I stumbled upon a thread of people celebrating people completing suicide, it would absolutely fuck me up.
“This is what people will say about you” whispers the depression monster. “Just give the people what they want”
I really don’t want anyone hurting themselves

Question for you. Is it OK to celebrate the deaths of Nazis directly responsible for the holocaust?
Just as okay as it is to celebrate Hitler’s death. Like, dude, I’m saying “treat public figures and soldiers with the same rules”. Mods are removing comments wishing for Bibi’s death, but they leave those that are celebrating suicides. I’m arguing against the hypocrisy
My only guess if they don’t want Mossad’s attention, if being charitable.
I guess holding child rapists, genocidal cunts, and politicians accountable is unacceptable in the eyes of some.
I ain’t reading Allat. Praying more Israelis follow this approach
Okay bibi
I’m saying that Bibi isn’t special and celebrating his death should be treated the same as celebrating some nameless IDF soldier’s deaths. Do you think that shouldn’t be the case? Do you think he’s deserving of special protection because of his status or class? Cause the mods seem to think so and I’m calling that behavior out.
I’m confused, this convo isn’t about bibi, I’m saying you are bibi lol
You are confused. The comment you replied to was talking about mods removing comments that apply the same outlook of these soldiers to Bibi. Bibi is being protected by the mods. The person you’re talking to wants the protecting removed.
Ah, I didn’t see the mods removing those comments. It just looked like they were defending the soldiers that offed themselves. So that is my bad.
… the fuck does that mean?
He say you are a Bibi.
You’ll understand when your older
