I’ve been revisiting anno 2205, infamously the ugly duckling of the Anno series of RTS games. I don’t mind so much the fact that it’s different, lacks customisation and random map generation - I’m bothered because the game is so slow to progress through on challenge settings, and it feels like a game designed just to artificially waste your time; in other anno games, you can always pull tricks to dig yourself out of economic crisis - selling off assets and surplus goods, completing quests for other parties, or taking loans. 2205 is very very confined in terms of what you can do to financially recover in the early game and forces you into a lot of military events.

Every single mobile game.
Definitely not for everyone but Shattered Pixel Dungeon is an incredible game. Available free on f-droid, tons of replayability, 5 classes to play, challenges most long term players can never get. Be warned incredible time sink, but very rewarding. Also a very nice community on Lemmy willing to help.
I can confirm, that is one of the better games on mobile. That said, bringing along a Switch is better by the length of the track and when Switch isn’t an option just do some killer sudoku or Brilliant or something. Heck, maybe even try <cue scary music> talking to other people.
Every time, I think “oh, this one will be better!”
Sucker.
One mobile game I keep coming back to is Necromerger. Has a paid in ap o purchase to turn off all adverts. Fantastic time killer that doesn’t keep me on it all day.
