WASHINGTON D.C. - U.S. lawmakers are demanding several Canada provinces not only stock their spirits again, but also formally acknowledge that the anti-tariff boycott wasn't working at all and that the Americans were "not even a little bit angry over it working".
Canada should be able to make their own good whisky as they have places at least as desolate and depressing as the Scottish Highlands and islands.
We do, we drink Rye.
Or we could make other kinds of liquor. Whisky isn’t the only (nor even necessarily the best) liquor in the world.
You know whiskey is several types of drink, right?
No. No I didn’t know that. I had no idea that scotch, bourbon, rye, etc. etc. etc. were different.
Here’s a thought, Sparky, in the future don’t be an insulting jackass, K? Buy-bye.
Projection is a bad look, my dude. See where the guy wasn’t stepping on your dick even a little bit and you responded like he cut off your Camaro.
Why does lemmy.ca, of all instances, have so many fucking dickheads on it?
If you leave there would be one less
Scotch, rye, bourbon, vodka etc are all whisky.
Vodka is not whisky. Unless you use a bizarre definition of “whisky” that says “any distilled spirit”.
Isn’t their whiskey spelled ‘maple syrup’?
We do indeed have maple flavoured whisky.
You mean sortilege and it’s all mine, thanks.

There’s some good stuff coming out of shelter point and a good bourbon from near Vernon, but the latter especially is hard to get even in the same region.
We have a distro problem even when the trade barrier problem is fixed.
Canada makes rye, not that moldy shit from Scotland.
do they have the right kind of oak trees up there? i thought the white oak was a crucial source of flavor and basically the thing that makes it whisky at all. theres already been a shortage in the states for a while that forced manufactures to stop making full oak barrels and be more efficient with the wood we have.
There are seven types of whiskey, not just bourbon, but Canada makes Bourbon style whisky that actually wins awards over that shit from Kentucky.

Yeah we can’t even get that here in the v3l. And that’s a bit of a shame.
