Lemmy isn’t a centrally controlled entity. Each instance has its own rules…
.ml for example is a Russian controlled propaganda instance. Even thinking something bad about China or Russia while browsing there is enough for a ban :p
Thanks for the hint and advice to be aware of potentially changing rules among Lemmy instances. At least there is the possibility to stay in an instance with lesser restrictions.

They can only see if your instance hasn’t defederated. There’s also lemmygrad and hexbear for increasing levels of auth commie lunacy.
