When local police departments go rogue, we’ve depended on the federal government (DOJ) to rein them in.

ICE is acting so brazenly at the behest of the president, with federal supremacy backing them.

No one is denying local police have committed atrocities. Do you see why this is a larger and more difficult problem?

You are seriously downplaying all the atrocities committed by law enforcement in the past. they rarely get any repercussions, at best they get a paid vacation or fired and retired in another department.

I believe we’re on the same page here. There’s too little accountability for police officers today, let alone in the past.

The point being discussed is that right now at this point in time there is even less accountability for ICE because they are federal.

my biggest issue, is that we have to make sure, that whatever is done to fix this, will also fix police brutality affecting minorities. Not just revert things like they were a couple years before.

I’m hearing so many liberals wanting to go back to before ICE was executing people in the streets, while not even caring that mass deportations, family separation, or police brutalizing minorities (just like ICE is now doing publicly) have been going on for a while.

and then get upset when called out.
